Verification of Employment

Illustrative Mathematics provides employment verification through trusted third-party services, depending on a person’s employment status and separation date. Use the information below to determine the appropriate source for requesting or completing employment verification.

Employees and Contractors active on or after January 1, 2026

As of January 1, 2026, Illustrative Mathematics uses The Work Number® (owned by Equifax) for employment verification service. 

If you are:

• an active employee
• a current contractor
• an employee or contractor who separated from IM on or after January 1, 2026

please direct your verifier to theworknumber.com.

Employees who separated before January 1, 2026

For employees who left IM before January 1, 2026, employment verification is handled through Certree.

Steps:

1. The former employee initiates the verification by visiting Certree.com and creating an Individual account.
1. Follow the instructions to access the Proof of Employment (POE) or Proof of Income (POI).
2. Review the document for accuracy. If corrections are needed, submit a correction request through Certree.
2. The final document can be shared with the intended recipient directly through Certree.

Note: The verifier will need a Certree verifier account to access the document the former employee shared.
